Bouquet Café (“we”, “our”, or “us”) operates a café and flower shop at 1418 Robson Street, Vancouver, British Columbia. This policy explains how personal information is collected and used when you visit our website, contact us, place an order or subscribe to updates. Our website is hosted by Shopify. Flower orders are currently arranged by calling the store.

The information involved depends on how you interact with us:

Contact and enquiry information: Your name, email address, telephone number and the information you provide through a contact form, email or phone enquiry. For wedding and corporate enquiries, this may include your selected service and event details.
Order and payment information: Items ordered, order instructions, billing and delivery details where needed, invoices and payment records. Phone orders can be paid by e-transfer or through an invoice sent using Shopify or Square. The payment information processed depends on the method you choose.
Account and subscription information: Account details if you create an account, and your email address and subscription preferences if you sign up for updates.
Website activity: Device and browser information, IP address, pages viewed and interactions with our website. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies may collect or store this information.

We receive information directly from you and through the website, payment services and other providers involved in your interaction with us. You can choose not to provide information, although we may be unable to respond to an enquiry or fulfil an order without the necessary details. Please share another person’s contact or delivery details only when you have authority to do so.

How We Use Your Personal Information

Orders and service: To discuss your requirements, prepare orders, issue invoices, confirm payment and coordinate pickup or an agreed delivery.
Communication: To respond to enquiries and communicate about orders, events and customer service requests.
Email updates: To send café news, seasonal flower updates and other promotional emails if you have opted in. You can unsubscribe at any time.
Website improvement and advertising: To understand website use, improve our services, personalise experiences and support advertising through the services described below, subject to applicable consent requirements and choices.
Business and legal purposes: To maintain business and tax records, address disputes, help prevent fraud and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Shopify and Other Service Providers

We share personal information with the providers involved in hosting our website, communicating with you, processing payments, fulfilling orders, analytics and advertising. A provider’s use of information depends on its role and the service involved.

Shopify: Shopify processes information about visits, interactions and purchases to provide its platform services. Our store has Shopify Network Intelligence enabled. This allows Shopify to use information from interactions with our store together with interactions with other merchants and Shopify to improve services, personalise experiences and support advertising. For certain enhanced services, Shopify is responsible for its own processing and related privacy requests. Payments: We accept e-transfer or payment through an invoice sent using Shopify or Square for phone orders. Your chosen payment service and the financial institutions involved process the information needed for that payment. Their handling of information can also include security, fraud prevention and legal purposes. See Shopify’s policy above and Square’s Privacy Notice. For e-transfer, also refer to your financial institution’s privacy notice. Please do not send full card numbers or banking passwords through our enquiry forms or by email.

Delivery: When delivery has been agreed, necessary recipient and delivery information may be shared with the provider handling it. Contact the store to confirm delivery arrangements.

Communications and advertising: Our website forms send enquiries to our store inbox through Shopify. We also have a Mailchimp email integration. Facebook & Instagram and Google & YouTube integrations have data access enabled in our Shopify configuration. These integrations may process website activity and other permitted customer data for analytics, advertising measurement and personalisation. Cookies and Your Choices

Our website and its integrations use cookies and similar technologies for website functions, analytics, personalisation and advertising. The available consent and opt-out controls may depend on your location and the service involved. Where a cookie banner or privacy choices control is displayed, you can use it to manage the choices offered.

You can also manage cookies through your browser settings and advertising preferences through the relevant platform. Blocking some cookies may affect website functions; browser settings alone may not control all information already shared with a provider. Our Shopify settings identify the United States as the store’s data-hosting location. Shopify and other providers may also transfer and process personal information in other countries. Security and Retention

Our website uses HTTPS to protect information in transit. No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. Please contact us if you believe an interaction with us or information you provided has been compromised.

How long personal information is retained depends on its purpose, including handling enquiries and orders, maintaining transaction and tax records, meeting legal obligations and resolving disputes. Providers may have their own retention requirements for information they process independently. Contact us to ask about a particular record or to request deletion; some information may need to be retained where required or permitted by law.

Your Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable privacy law and its exceptions, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, information about its use and disclosure, and correction of inaccurate information. You may also ask to withdraw consent or request deletion. Withdrawal of consent can be subject to legal restrictions and reasonable notice, and may affect services that require the information.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in the message or contact us for help. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary messages about an order or an enquiry.

To make a request, contact us using the details below. We may need to verify your identity before providing or changing personal information, and will respond within the time required by applicable law. We do not charge for requests unless an access request is unusually large or repetitive and a fee is permitted by applicable privacy law. Any fee will be minimal, and we will provide a written estimate before proceeding. There is no fee for access to your own employee personal information under British Columbia’s PIPA.
